Hi, I’m Dr. Misker Kassahun — but feel free to call me Mika.
I’m a medical doctor, a public health professional, a community builder, and a lifelong believer that real change happens when compassion meets action. I earned my MD from St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College and my MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. But honestly? My story can’t be summed up by degrees alone.
I’m the kind of person who loves curating unforgettable events almost as much as I love curating a killer Ethiopian feast for friends and family. I’m a bookworm with a soft spot for psychological thrillers, a big believer in the magic of coffee-fueled conversations, and a proud ambassador of Ethiopia’s rich and beautiful culture, a passion I’ve carried across stages and social media alike.
My journey has taken me from hospital wards to national conferences, from founding nonprofits to building programs that reach thousands. (I even once represented Ethiopia on international pageant stages: not for the crowns, but for the opportunity to advocate for mental health, health equity, and the vibrant African stories often left untold.)
Through co-founding GIV Society Ethiopia and launching projects through Ensight Global Consultancy, I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about titles — it’s about showing up, building trust, and creating opportunities for others to shine. That’s what drives me every day, whether I’m planning a health fair, mentoring young professionals, or working with partners to craft innovative public health solutions.
If you’re passionate about making a difference, whether in healthcare, youth empowerment, or community-driven initiatives, you’re in the right place.
